Many founders fail, because they can't access social and financial capital.
Who you know often matters more than what you know.
FounderTribes exists to change that.
We're like Tinder or Bumble, but for founders looking to meet mentors and investors outside of their networks.
Most current solutions match founders to potential supporters through Airtables and warm intros. These are not scalable.
FounderTribes uses machine learning and recommendation engines to ensure that founders of all backgrounds can access the support they need to unlock their full potential and create intergenerational wealth.
Gary Stewart is the founder and chair of FounderTribes.
Gary is also the MD of Techstars NYC powered by J.P. Morgan, as part of their $83m initiative to support underrepresented founders.
He was previously the MD of Wayra UK, Wayra Spain and Wayra Social Ventures, where his portfolio of start-ups was worth more than $1.6 billion.
Gary has also been an associate professor of entrepreneurship at IE Business School in Madrid and a visiting professor of entrepreneurship at Yale Law School.
Prior to that he was a corporate lawyer in London, Barcelona and Madrid.
He is a graduate of Yale College (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Yale Law School.
He was born in Kingston, Jamaica but grew up in the Bronx.
Our diverse executive team consists of alumni from Yale, MIT, Columbia, etc. passionate about using technology to make sure that both talent and opportunity are equally distributed.
